Lautenbach Staff to Volunteer at Annual Great Islands Clean-Up Event on San Juan Island
The Great Islands Clean-Up is back in person!
Saturday, April 23rd, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Lautenbach Recycling staff is excited to volunteer once again for the Annual Great Islands Clean-Up, banishing litter from the beautiful beaches and roadsides of San Juan Island. This year’s theme, All Hands On Deck, celebrates our collaborative efforts as a community to keep our waterways, beaches and roads plastic and litter free.
Environmental and community health is the foundation of Lautenbach Recycling, and the Great Islands Clean-Up is a fun way for us to pitch in with our island neighbors. And it’s a great way to celebrate Earth Day weekend on gorgeous San Juan Island!
Lautenbach has a special connection to San Juan, having managed the San Juan Transfer Station since 2014. We partner with San Juan County, San Juan Sanitation, and the Town of Friday Harbor to provide materials management for San Juan Island residents and businesses. We are open to the public for self-hauling recycling, garbage, and green yard waste. We have leveraged our equipment, 30+ years of experience, and individualized customer service into a cost-effective, Recycle First philosophy for the island.
Lautenbach will provide walk-on ferry transportation for its staff volunteers, as well as donuts and coffee (bring your own cup, please!) for all Clean-Up participants at the morning meet-up area. We’re also donating raffle prizes and sponsoring live music at the after-party at San Juan Island Brewing Co. starting at 3 p.m. – join in for music, $1 beers for GICU participants, a raffle, and the presentation of the Good Steward Awards. If you would like to participate or have event questions contact Carolyn Moulton: [email protected], 360-472-0335
We look forward to joining islanders and visitors alike at this annual event!
